Principal's Message

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus, home of the Sharks! I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such an incredible group of students and parents as we welcome the class of 2012 and 2013 to Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus - a brand new, state of the art educational establishment where our mission is “to provide the highest quality of education through small learning communities and challenge our students to achieve and demonstrate academic excellence by acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a competitive, ever-changing global society.”

The Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus administration, faculty and staff are prepared to welcome our ninth and tenth grade students in August, 2009, and provide them with a first class education. From our partnership with Florida International University along with our digital learning environment, to our array of challenging and rigorous courses including honors, gifted, advanced placement, dual enrollment and specialized academies, Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus is fully representative of a 21st century high school.

I have been fortunate to communicate with many of you at our spring orientation, PTSA meetings, via email, phone and through scheduled meetings. I welcome each of you to visit us at our current office located at David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center (305)354-2600, which is just across the street from Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus. Furthermore, I encourage you to frequently visit our school website at http://ssqqq1.dadeschools.net. Our website continues to provide current information regarding the new high school including an all inclusive PowerPoint presentation, curricular, athletic, and club information, registration and required uniform (shirt) information as well as important upcoming event dates and times.

We will hold a summer orientation for our incoming freshman and sophomores in early August to provide an overview of the school and offer school tours. I am looking forward to starting a lifetime of learning though special traditions at Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus with the involvement of all stakeholders, as we kick off our inaugural year this coming August! Go Sharks!
